Fiestas de la Virgen Blanca in Vitoria

The annual celebration of the Virgen Blanca kicked off on August 4 in the town plaza with roughly 40,000 people. The tradition is that at 6PM the Celedon (toy man) comes down from the church tower into one of the local's balcony. As he makes his way down, the crowd erupts in cheer and an enormous champagne shower ensues. Good times.
